Not the end of the world
Sunday, Jun. 23, 2002 - 18:59 Hmm... ok, today has been a little disappointing. Well... my weekend has been a little disappointing. I can't call Frank him or her yet because so far the votes have levelled. Please vote (click on 'Frank' - the poll's at the bottom) if you have not done so already. Well, yesterday I did get to do a fairly decent reverse park (and two bad ones) and some other driving, and I did handle things quite well at work. I also missed the Bandstand BBQ :( It's a Christian event, and free! Ricci (not a Christian) went with Duck, and seemed quite unimpressed (he called the Tribe, a Christian band, homophobic, because they said that only married couples could have sex... *sigh* there's no answer to that, in the words of Eric Morecambe). He reckoned that most of them weren't married and were gay. And not virgins. James went too but he 'was ick' (in his own words) and so had to go home. Today I went to church in the morning, which I wasn't exactly ecstatic about - I prefer evening services. I know that that's probably the wrong attitude and I was trying to be all mature about it, because I know that God doesn't care what time of day it is, but I still usually prefer the evening services... *sigh* It was so-so. I mean, I enjoyed the service... singing in the morning is very rousing :) (I started to think that maybe when I'm at uni I'll go to both morning and evening services at whatever church... 'How come we only get to go to church three times a week?' - Todd Flanders) But I wanted to talk to Dave (the minister) about something he said, and couldn't find the words when I was talking to him, then couldn't find him when I had the words. Also there was a woman there called Lynn who trained as a primary school teacher and now works with adult literacy in Sudan. She spoke a little and that was really cool. I would have liked to have spoken to her afterwards too but I couldn't find her at all. Maybe she'd gone with the Sunday school... I should have thought of that. But hey, at least Wucy came round :) She's been teasing me about the great pink frog. Heh. Thanks Alice for your guestbook signing :D Clarissa... I'm glad you like sequins and Christian fiction but I haven't a clue what you're talking about. I actually searched my diary for sequins and I've never ever talked about them. If you're referring to the little shiny circles with needle holes in the middles, to be honest I don't really like them. Oooh... just done a check... and... congratulations Alice, you gave me my 200th gbook entry :D Random word for today: << last entry ... next entry >> Interesting doughnuts - Sunday, Feb. 05, 2006 Blogging, why? - Friday, Feb. 03, 2006 Dreams, climate change - Friday, Feb. 03, 2006 In the shadows - Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006 |
