What a beautiful day
2001-04-26 - 17:57 I can remember being a child. I can remember so many strange schemes we had that never worked. I can remember believing in those mysterious beings that explained all the strange things in life. Santa Claus, the tooth fairy, Jack Frost. I can remember jumping from benches and running with our arms wide open and flapping because flight seemed only another moment away. Nothing was impossible. That was the rule. My invisibility potion didn't work, but I worked through my theory again and reckoned I could do it. It didn't matter that no one had ever done it before, because we imagined it so vividly it had to be true. It didn't matter that no one ever caught Jack Frost as he made our playground into an ice rink for the morning. Why do we forget these things? We toss them away like clothes that don't fit, and ignore the part of us that is still trying to fly. Amazing how in our quest to become mature we forget the truth we always knew. And sometimes I just want to run in the wind and enjoy the world for what it is. Heaven is being revealed to me piece by piece and it's beautiful. And flight is not impossible... Wasn't it incredible << last entry ... next entry >> Interesting doughnuts - Sunday, Feb. 05, 2006 Blogging, why? - Friday, Feb. 03, 2006 Dreams, climate change - Friday, Feb. 03, 2006 In the shadows - Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006 |
