Dramatic evening
Friday, Jul. 12, 2002 - 23:48 (thank you David for your guestbook signing!! :D And thank you Liz for my review! I'm glad I chose your site from which to jump on the reviewing bandwagon, as it were :) Phew... dramatic evening. Suppose, this evening, I had left work at 5 o'clock. Probably carrying my food - maybe just pasta and salad - with me, using my return ticket and getting in, maybe to chat online for a bit and do some writing. Musing and chatting to God... replying to the surprise e-mail I got today (and maybe even replying to the other stuff, miracles do happen). I would have written a diary entry about some of the guys in the kitchen at work, ate a pleasant dinner with my family, and eventually gone to bed. However, at half past two I was asked if I wanted to work the evening shift, and I agreed. After five o'clock I ate my pasta and salad outside, chatted to Kim and Asil (co-workers!) until six, worked a boring shift on salad until ten, and then was skipping up to the staff room with Kim when I heard my phone ring. I didn't catch it in time, but a voicemail message told me that Clive and Mum had been in a car accident coming to pick me up, although the tone of his voice tells me no-one is hurt... I borrowed Kelly's phone (she's another co-worker... I may update the cast list eventually), called Clive - no reply - called Stephen and he's coming to pick me up. Although Kim unhelpfully mentioned that her Dad was held up 'because of the accident'. Bizarre, what one little choice can do. Although... just think, if Clive had decided to let Mum drive, she would have taken the little car, which would have been much more damaged... Or, if his huuuge car hadn't been there, maybe a little one would have been, and it would have been much more serious. Or maybe it wouldn't have happened at all. Funny, isn't it? *sigh* Everyone's ok... I think one driver was in shock... but apart from some frayed nerves and seriously bashed up cars, no one was hurt. Thank you God.
