A Curious Girl: Fresher feeling

I also had a rude awakening on Tuesday. Apparently I'm here to do a degree... that wasn't in the prospectus, was it? Oh yeah...

Had a hilarious Chemistry lecture this morning. We found out how to blow up a toilet.

Thank you guestbook signers! And don't anyone be offended if I should e-mail you and I haven't yet. I actually have an excuse this time - called a computer room not a computer, and suddenly a very full schedule. Updating my diary is a handy way of contacting you all at once.

I'm still trying to find my feet somewhat. I get on with the girls in my corridor, but I seem to spend more time with the girls on the next corridor... Dunno. I went over Keith's last night - I met his two housemates at a chaplaincy meeting and they invited me and Jon (another guy... computer science... very quiet) over. Keith didn't hang around but Fiona, Chris, Jon and I head over to a great place for milkshakes and cocktails. We all had milkshakes and I had a cocktail afterwards too. It was delish :D. Chris and I spent so long talking about Monty Python... hehehe... It was very cool. He reckoned that at the speed I drank the cocktail, I would suddenly feel the effects all at once and it would be the funniest thing he'd seen in ages. Actually not much happened... guess I'm not a lightweight anymore.

Then we played a really long game of Trivial Pursuit which we decided to finish on Sport and Leisure and award the status of winner to whoever got the Sport and Leisure cheese.

Laura and I headed to church today, the beginning of year student service. It was quite moving and we all got free soup.

I want to join lots of societies. Actually I can't even be bothered to list them, because I can't join all of them, but I'll sign up and pay later...

Also... now I've left home, my parents suddenly seem like the coolest people! I do like taking care of myself (the staff treat us like people!!) but I miss them. And all my friends. You know, I'm sure I dreamt about one of them last night, I can't remember the dream but they were in my mind in my first Chemistry lecture.
