Poetica Collab, November

It really is about time I post another of these... considering I didn't bother for the last three.

Topic: Write a poem of any style or pattern, using the following line as the first line of your poem: “Laughing, she danced across the moonlit bridge.“

I like this line... it has so many possibilities... OK then, here we go.

Finding Freedom

Laughing, she danced across the moonlit bridge
On wings of dreams she flew right through the night
In the midst of pain she had found her freedom
In the darkest night, still the moonlight shone

Into a river she had poured her tears
To the East she had strained to see the sun
And still that bridge she was afraid to cross
Her heart made the darkness its only home

But daring to hope, daring to wonder
She put her foot into that unknown place
Love was the promise, love she would receive
She danced for sheer joy on that moonlit bridge
