So what's been going on in your exciting life lately?

I haven't written any poetry in ooh, about a week. I haven't written any decent poetry in aaaaages.

I have an essay and a little chemistry to do this weekend. Elaine remarked yesterday that Mr. JE 'seemed normal' on Thursday. It's obviously my good influence :-) Seriously, though, looked like my project to make him a more bearable person worked. On me, not him :-) I know loads of people doing Chemistry A-level this year, and if they complain about him, I'm telling them to smile at him. Androids don't smile. Humans do.

I've been getting annoyed every time I hear people refer to the hijacking of Tuesday 11th as a 'tragedy'. Which is a bit silly as I know that that word is actually quite appropriate in the Shakespearian sense. Only when people say tragic nowadays it usually means it was an accident or a miscalculation. I saw a headline in the Sun (Rory who gets the same bus as me buys a copy every day because 'it's only 30p') that said 'Suicide is forbidden by the Koran', a Muslim talking about the 'true faith'. I wasn't sure whether that was a deliberate irony or just the Sun's general incompetance... Suicide is forbidden... killing thousands of people is OK.

This year my 'circle of friends' seems to include more of the year 12s than ever. Last year I was friends with Ricci, James, Flash (at school he's usually called Duck, so please don't get confused if I call him that), Kayleigh and Lucy, as well as Michelle and the other James, and Jessica - this year I'm talking to them more, and I now know Connie and Rory who are both new. I know who Connie fancies *grins* and the first time I met her, she seemed to make her occupation insulting Ricci, and she still does. (He's not the one she fancies!) But I wonder about that girl, I think she likes Ricci much more than she's letting on. Oh well, that's something to keep me amused this year :-). Actually I think she and Ricci would make a better couple than she and the one she fancies :-). Or at least, considering how much they apparently hate each other (yeah, we believe you), certainly a funnier couple...

Kayleigh's one of the ones doing chemistry, they had a disastrous lesson using the expensive apparatus in which she, nervous as anything, was the only one who didn't break something. When I asked her how she'd had so much fun in her lesson, Connie found it worrying that I found such destruction amusing. What's the point of finding it depressing??

What an entry this is. Why do I get on so well with people younger than me? Mum said it's probably because they're less judgemental or something. I think it's probably simply because there are a lot of people in that group that I can get on with, and it's really nothing to do with age. It's not like I'm incompetant with people older than me, it's more like it's just the way that it turned out.

I think I'm going to paint my nails. I haven't in ages and I'm in the mood for some interesting nail art. Maybe I'll do what I did one Easter, that my Mum thought was horrible. My Grandma made a comment about how I like nail art and tactfully left it at that. I once did my nails with cat's eyes, which actually looked quite good on short nails. I thought so, Mum naturally hated it :-)

Yeah, I know this entry doesn't mean much in the grand scale of things. But never mind...
