Tendencies towards hackery
Tuesday, May. 13, 2003 - 18:09 Went to give blood. *smiles* Aaah, tea and biccies... Playing a non-gambling version of Bingo tonight! Aah, the joys :) Got an e-mail back re: Women's Committee. Now to make sure that I don't make a complete fool of myself. If they ask me if I was in the Vagina Monologues, I will offer to perform Sister Suffragette from Mary Poppins. Or scream. Or something. V. Annoyed that it is not an open meeting (ie. ony candidates and exec will be allowed in), which I personally think is disgraceful and probably has ulterior motives attached. Oh, campus life... I'm off to get some highly suspicious food from the canteen. Hsiu, glad you appreciated the jokes... You're right about Alfred Nobel actually, although today Matthew told me that apparently he hoped to stop war by making it so horrific that people wouldn't let it happen anymore. He might have had a point (that old 'nuclear weapons ensure peace because everyone's too afraid to use them' rationale), however I must simply quote Oscar Wilde - "Whilst war is considered wicked, it will always have its fascination. When war is considered vulgar, then it will cease to be popular. Although dynamite is rather useful for non war-like capacities, for example mining :) You know, I'm really enjoying Science Skills this term. My tutorial group are cool, which makes up for tutorials being filled with awkward silence. And me telling our tutor that I'm certain that plants need sodium, and him telling me that sodium is toxic to plants. I will have to brush up on my nerdness, I guess... Anyway, toodle-oooooo.... And I would apologise for the lack on content in this entry, but pah... I don't care.
