Jesus and hair dye... an unlikely couple
Friday, Aug. 16, 2002 - 19:17

Had a WWJD moment at work today. I didn't end up having to do anything fortunately for me :) but it was interesting. Marie came in and asked if I could do her evening shift because she was feeling really ill. I said no because I was going to sort out stuff for Soul Survivor tonight (I leave tomorrow!) and I want to dye my hair. I'd already swapped shifts with Kerry just so I wouldn't have to work this evening.

She said, 'Oh... all right. Well it's not your fault...' And walked off dejectedly.

Major guilt moment. What would Jesus do? Not make sure he was looking generally funky for his next sermon-spree surely?

I came up with loads of naff excuses to myself. And couldn't find one that fit. I called home and then told her I would. Felt much better :) However I didn't have to in the end because they needed fully trained waitresses (and not me) and Marie got to go home early anyway. Nice how it works out, isn't it? :) It was odd though, I know I've tried to promise to always do as Jesus would in my place, but I was really squirming with that one. But it wasn't fair to expect her to work whilst ill, when I could do it just as easily.

Anyway, my only worry now is how to fit all of my stuff onto the minibus!
