The Animated Adventures of Harry Potter

Can't sleep. It's now Lois's birthday. Go wish her happy birthday :)

Work called today (yesterday). Steve, who was managing, was pretty desperate for staff but I said no. I'd planned to meet Rory at about 4:10 (ie. after school) and even if I did 12-4 I'd be late, have to ask him to wait.

I did feel kinda bad about it, truth to tell, even though it meant I would have had to get up and dressed pretty sharpish (this was at 10:50 this morning, and I had to be at work by 12), and I worked yesterday.

Then I discovered that Lois would have probably been nearby where I worked. Boy, do I suddenly believe in karma! :)

Chris is coming over tomorrow. Mmm, pasta.

I don't have much to say :) I've been pondering what it would be like when the inevitable happens and they release the Harry Potter Cartoon Series (it's only a matter of time). Cartoon Series are always stuck in time, unless they're Japanese or exceptional, or the Simpsons. Actually the Simpsons doesn't develop much but at least they can joke about it ('What is it she doesn't like? My overbite? The fact that I've worn the same clothes for four years?') The villains are the same. The goodies are the same. No one's character ever changes even if they've had to undergo certain horrible stress, or if they briefly fall in love. And if they make new friends, those new friends mysteriously disappear by the next episode. Let's face it folks, most serious cartoons are boring! :) (Although I'm still a fan of X-men... so sue me :) )

Funny cartoons naturally include Dangermouse, The Simpsons, and, hey, anyone remember Will O' the wisp? And Dexter's Laboratory... hehehe... And they are not boring, even if they do use the same basis for every episode. Ooh, and Hey Arnold. Which I watch for Helga, and that episode with Eugene's surprise party...

But I think I'd better warn Warner Bros. before they think of it. The Cartoon Adventures of Harry Potter are going to be boring. For one thing, you can bet your life Alan Rickman won't do the voice of Snape. For another, Hermione's character will be reduced to Velma from Scooby Doo, except that she'll add 'Haven't you read Hogwarts: A History?' every now and again.

Then the spin-offs. The Harry Potter kids. Six year old Harry has to stop six year old Draco from spoiling Ron's birthday party.

And all Voldemort will be able to do is mutter 'Mwahaha! Harry Potter will soon be mine!!'

Spare me.

You're not in the least bit interested, are you? Good for you :)
