A Curious Girl: Jelly baby death and burning vodka

Hah, last night was excellent. A scavenger hunt! Yay! I went with Keith and Sian, and we consequently found most of the stuff in my room. One of the items was 'a scientific demonstration' in which we attempted to demonstrate that alcohol burns and water doesn't. However apparently vodka doesn't burn... damn. Looked spiffy in my labcoat, though :) I have to say, Gary's team (Gary being the chair of the society) did the best scientific demonstration, using only an apple. They demonstrated that gravity exists...

Speaking of burning things, this afternoon a lecturer heated up some potassium chlorate in a boiling tube until it started to decompose and then threw in a jelly baby. The sick sick man. The flame was coming out of the boiling tube! One incinerated jelly baby...

I had cauliflower cheese and bacon for lunch today. I should have cooked the bacon for a little longer to get the fat out of it, and made more sauce, but other than that it was nice :) Mmmmmmmmmmm...

My parents sent me pictures of us from Sunday and some black thread to sew the hem on my trousers with. Aw, they're so nice :)

Last night I came in and popped in to say hello to Eleanor (my corridor, and not my teddy bear) and she burst out laughing. Something to do with the fact that I was wearing a labcoat, Minnie Mouse Ears and carrying an open bottle of wine. Scary Suit Guy gave it to me, as a token of affection or something...

Ooh, and I finished my tutorial work for tomorrow. Although I might go do it again and put it pretty pictures of amino acids I drew myself. Yeah, I'll do that.

No... first I'll go and get my washing, put it in the dryer and check if I have to do any chemistry. I'm sure it said next fortnight but the timetable doesn't make sense on that point...
