Just a big kid really...
Tuesday, Dec. 09, 2003 - 12:09 Thanks for the hug Mum :) So I put up some posters asking if anyone's seen my items - one vanished within five minutes of putting it up. I hope it was the person who has them and not a random troublemaker. Also I went to see the nurse this morning - she says the thing with my periods is probably OK (Maria e-mailed me yesterday and pointed out that someone I know with two children has the same problem :) ) but I can have a bloodtest next term, which is good. I finally bought the second book in the Demon Headmaster series (The Prime Minister's Brain). About five years after I read the last one, but never mind :) Actually, the first story is good but the rest are a bit daft... mainly because they're exactly the same and the reader knows exactly what's going to happen. Although the last one (I think 'The Demon Headmaster returns') was slightly different for a bit of variety. The basic plot is something like this - kids notice strange goings on. Turns out the Demon Headmaster is hypnotising everyone. The kids defeat him. End. The first one was really good because it had that 'you against the world' feel, and the kids were dealing with a problem that was in their school rather than off saving the world in an improbable manner. It had the strongest battle of wills in it of all the books. Of course, I haven't actually read the second one yet, so it might turn out to be better. I doubt it. I suspect that I'll enjoy it though :) I seem to have a constant headache at the moment. It's annoying. Thanks purplebanana for your note :) Random word for today: temerity << last entry ... next entry >> Interesting doughnuts - Sunday, Feb. 05, 2006 Blogging, why? - Friday, Feb. 03, 2006 Dreams, climate change - Friday, Feb. 03, 2006 In the shadows - Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006 |
