And the truth she spake
2001-01-22 - 21:58 I'm going to try and be quick, as I promised myself I'd get more sleep. I finished the Manzanar essay, although I have a few extra pieces of crap to add which aren't really all that important, but required, such as about 500 print outs. I have an idea for my career at last, but as usual I am plagued with doubt. It may be the right one this time, but I dare not say, because so many others have turned out to be fairly crap. As for being a doctor, I'm pretty certain I have to be more crazy about it than I actually am. Choosing a career is a bit like getting married. You have quite a flexible decision but as you go it gets harder to turn back (flirting-going out-relationship-engagement-marriage) until you're faced with it your whole life or else you have to have a messy divorce. I am so damn mixed up. I'm beginning to realise that I know nothing. Actually told a teacher the whole truth about why I did not have the homework, and it wasn't "I've forgotten it." No. Digby R. - Have you got your homework, Helen? Me - No, sorry, I left it until too late and then I had to spend ages searching for a document with an image in. Sorry about that. Digby R. - When can you give it to me? Me - Thursday, next lesson? This is amazing compared to the kiss-your-shoes approach I gave to John E. with the Curie Rutherford Essay. "I left it until too late" compared with "I, er, haven't got it", and "Thursday" compared to "As soon as I come into school tomorrow." Looks like I'm getting sensible about some things. Today was all right, but other than what I have written about, nothing very remarkable happened. I think. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm going to bed now.
