Afterchurch and mushroom shopping
2001-05-29 - 11:48 Thanks to you lovely people who signed my guestbook! :-). Check out Emouse's website it's got funky Manga drawings!! I thought, after yesterday's testimony, I'd tell you some of the stuff that's actually been happening in the past few days. (I'm really, really itchy, Monday morning I woke up with six insect bites, one of which is huge!!! :-( ) As usual, I didn't do much on Saturday, although I watched Live and Kicking to see Delirious. Good, although not exactly the event of the century :-) On Sunday I went to Church! (Wow, of all things to do on a Sunday...) It was mainly about government and 'the way to vote' in election time, but it was good anyway, although given the rather corny title 'Making the cross count'. After that the yoofy people walked up to Joan and Arthur's for Afterchurch (I usually only go at holidays because I don't have to worry about my somewhat neglected homework. Something to work on!). Chris and I walked in front most of the way, until the rest ended up right behind us and kept saying we were too slow. How annoying! But it was cool - we enthused about what God's been doing lately, and I told her about how I'd wondered if I changed at all, and she said, "I can think of one way you've changed!" Although I'm tempted to think that she remembers me making fun of her not just because I did, but because I kept talking regretfully of it afterwards :-) And of course my family noticed the change - a few of them accused me of being 'religious'. If 'religious' is loving Jesus and wanting to follow him, I certainly am religious. That's not my chosen term, but it's better than nothing I guess... We stopped off for a bit at the swings in the park. Christina kept saying how much she enjoyed going on the swings and how they're maybe a bit too young for her, and I could see what she was saying. Although I don't equate young with childish, so it's not much of a problem for me. Eventually we got to Joan and Arthur's, ate crisps, drank Coke, and sat outside as it was (still is) so hot. We had a weird discussion about shaving and waxing, and listen to Chris talk about Oxford. It was a nice evening. Monday I spent a sizeable portion of writing yesterday's entry, and in between times I walked to the local shops to buy some mushrooms for Mum so we could have a spaghetti bolognese. Mum won't eat it without mushrooms, but she will eat savoury mince without mushrooms, which is annoying as you can guess which I prefer! On the way there, I was approached by three little girls, one holding a dead bird and another holding a dead chick. They told me they'd found them and they'd been run over, and didn't know what to do with them. I suggested telling their Mum, and they said they had. Not sure why they wanted to tell me about it, but I did think their concern was nice :-) When I walked back, they waved to me. Last night, Ricci called, and we sang silly songs to each other (his rewrite of Savage Garden and my rewrite of My Heart Will Go On) and both got interrupted by an annoying sibling - he was interrupted by his sister Holly, and I was interrupted by Steve, right in the middle of my Titanic song! How inconsiderate. :-) Random word for today: << last entry ... next entry >> Interesting doughnuts - Sunday, Feb. 05, 2006 Blogging, why? - Friday, Feb. 03, 2006 Dreams, climate change - Friday, Feb. 03, 2006 In the shadows - Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006 |
