Everybody knows his bright red van

I watched Postman Pat this morning!!!

*sees confused looks from some readers*

What's this? You've never heard of Patrick Clifton, loyal employee of the post office (and Mrs. Goggins) and pillar of Greendale community?

I loved Postman Pat when I was little - *sings* Postman Pat, Postman Pat, Postman Pat and his black and white caaaat! (Jess!) Early in the morning, when the day is dawning, Pat takes all the postbags in his van. Or something. It's a cute animation with models, and also in many books and heck, I even had the Postman Pat race game and Postman Pat jigsaw! He drives a bright red van and delivers the letters in the little rural village of Greendale, along with his cute cat Jess. He helps out local farmers, is friends with Ted Glenn, Rev. Timms, Dr. Gilbert, Granny Dryden, Sam whatshisname who has a grocery van, Mr. Pringle the local teacher, Mrs. Pottage, and has a small son named Julian and a wife called Sara, pronounced Sarah. My favourite one was his birthday, when despite telling no-one, everyone bought him a present! Turned out he was Postman of the Year and a newspaper article told everyone his birthday (sneaky). Anyway, I couldn't stop laughing at it this morning. It went from full daylight to dark in a matter of seconds! And there was a bit when Julian said, 'I wish my Dad was here to take us home in his van' when any of today's kids would have just pulled out a mobile phone and called him!

I read something Lori, an American friend of Mum's, wrote today. She talked about how in New York after Tuesday they have become so much more united - one theft was committed and that was it for crime!t It was wonderful to read how they've become more intent on working together, strangers talking to each other just to share experiences. It shows how humanity can pull together.

I read Matt Redman's book, The Unquencable Worshipper, yesterday. It is brilliant! And only a short read - around 100 pages. Made me feel a bit guilty in places as I find it quite easy to put off or cut short my own worship sessions at home, even though God so deserves praise. And I've got to do something about my addiction to the internet. I have to read e-mail etc. and check my internet friends are OK, but there's a difference between reaching out to people and being obsessed with checking e-mail and diaries.

Sheesh, I am so not perfect.
