Sir Percy!!
2000-12-23 - 20:07

I'm tired as I stayed up until half one this morning reading The Elusive Pimpernel. The end was very funny, maybe because it was so unexpected. I couldn't see how they could possibly get out of the mess they were in, but still they managed it.

Ah well. Didn't do much today, except go with family to see Clive's adopted parents (therefore my adopted adopted grandparents) who are actually his Auntie Maggie and Uncle Bill. I like them, although Auntie Maggie does tend to go on. Today she was saying there's nothing in the Bible that says Jesus had brothers. I kept trying to tell her that there was one obscure verse that mentioned it, but let's face it; a liberalist, feminist Christian seventeen year old arguing with a firm Roman Catholic of many years is not an easy situation. So I tried to be as gentle as possible, and didn't get very far.

Matthew 13:55; "Isn't this the carpenter's son? Isn't his mother's name Mary, and aren't his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas?"

Never mind. I don't see that it matters anyway. I'm not sure what so bothered her about it.

Maybe now I'll get my English work for Digby R done.

Love,

Helen.
