I should pay more attention, and Duck's assertiveness training
Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001 - 17:37

Hi peeps.

Went to Faith and Light again yesterday, the club for mentally disabled people and their families. A girl called Karen talked to me for a lot of the time, she kept asking 'Will you sort me out?' Didn't know what to say so I said yes. Meaning, anything I can do I will, any way I can help. Got hugged rather a lot by this guy... Chris I think his name is. Very affectionate :-) And another man talked to me a bit too, he had a bit of a stutter, making his speech difficult to understand, which must be hard.

Interesting day at school. Forgiven the person I was annoyed with, which is nice as I hate feeling angry.

Chris and I were chatting to Emily before her flute lesson and a teacher came along, and asked her why she was there (she's Yr 10 and has no 'study' periods) - Emily explained - and the teacher picked her up on her jacket. 'Shouldn't be wearing this.' As she moved away, I foolishly remarked, 'Maybe she was cold.' Teacher turns round slow, and says, 'What did you say?' Guess I deserved the lecture I got after that :-) I read in Proverbs just this morning - Proverbs 10:19 'If you talk a lot you are sure to sin; if you are wise, you will keep quiet.' *giggle* I am such an idiot. After school I saw Emily again and she thanked me profusely *grin*. My idea of tact seems to be different from everyone else's. Oh dear, teachers aren't meant to hear those throwaway remarks you make behind their back... on the other hand I did want to stand up for Emily, I'm so sick of pointless rules like no coats in school and detentions for people who wear trainer socks not ankle socks. *sigh* I guess I just didn't expect the teacher to get so angry, that's my trouble. I don't want to offend people so much as challenge them.

Anyway, that was my day. Oh, and I put on Dangermouse in Invasion yesterday. James criticised it on the grounds that it might bring down street cred (he who detests 'worldly' methods! :-) ) Chris's sister Sarah's boyfriend sat and recited it along with the script. Mwahaha :-) Some boys asked if they could watch porn and laughed at me when I said I was 17 because I'm too young to watch porn. Weird kids.

And Ricci and Mark are trying to corrupt Duck - apparently Duck is a doormat and he needs to be more aggressive. They're teaching him to disobey. Ricci said something about a fee he was going to charge for the course, and I pointed out that if he charges Duck at the end of it, Duck will probably refuse to pay. Heh.
