I went back to the school I was a student tutor in today. Helped out on their 'nature walk' that all of year four was doing. Gah. Insanity. You call them to you first time, and they come. You call them second time and they've lost interest. You get angry and shout, and they're shocked, and come to you. You shout again and they realise that all you're doing is yelling. The only thing that really caught their attention was when I mock-threatened to remove their spleen if they didn't follow me, mainly because none of them had a clue what a spleen is. At least it all ended well - they all returned to the classroom, and the children voted to give me the 'prize' of the day. Vicky, their teacher, wasn't annoyed that they'd been out of control under my charge, she was just grateful that I'd been able to 'keep some of them apart'... hehe. I suspect that her group were a bit crazy too. When I was helping last term, they had an absolutely fantastic supply teacher who, despite keeping them the quietest I've ever seen them, said she was surprised out how rowdy they are. I must say though, it's times like this I'm so very glad I'm planning to do a PGCE not already doing a B.Ed., if I suddenly decide I don't want to be a teacher, at least I'll have a usable degree. Theoretically, anyway...

Heh. I received an e-mail yesterday from someone who was fraught and distressed at the fact that J.K. Rowling killed off a certain character in the latest book. She suggested I join the protest marches, sit-ins, boycotts or the letters to JKR campaign, in order to force her to reconsider. I laughed very hard when I read it :) After all, said character will live forever in fanfiction, and for heaven's sake, there are children starving, and people are worried about an imaginary character?

I went to the best restaurant in the world yesterday. Cantonese buffet and then disco! And the buffet was delicious...
