Sad meeting
Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002 - 17:51

Well I'm touched that seven of the nine (hmm... Star Trek) people who have voted on the poll so far think that I am sweet :D OK, so four of them also think I am sarcastic. But at least it means that I don't have to change my username to sarcastic-indigo.

Have you ever started your period and thought 'So this explains the past couple of days'? Men, don't answer that...

Anyhow, yesterday I went to Faith and light, albeit about half an hour late. It's like... you know when you're watching television and you can't be bothered to change the channel because the remote control is too far away? Like that :) I knew I'd enjoy myself when I got there, but it was getting out of the house. I did go, and I enjoyed myself. We had a session that was mainly to remember Alan, a member who died very recently. A lot of them were crying, it was an emotional time. I didn't really know Alan but even so - death is a bewildering thing, isn't it? It's so hard to understand 'forever'. Inevitably, when someone dies I always wish I had known them better. Suddenly it seems like you wasted so many chances. We all wrote little notes for him - I helped Penny write one, and wrote one myself.

John, the vicar of the church whose Vicarage Hall we use (I assume he doesn't live at the vicarage, it's called 'The Old Vicarage' after all) came to talk. He prayed, and then a couple of the others prayed. It was very sad, but he talked about Heaven, which was very cheering :)

After that, Rachel asked if they could say a prayer for me, because of me going to university. *blush* I've never felt so congratulated in all my life, I think, having them all clapping, and Martin, who greeted me on my very first day, came over and hugged me, plus Penny hugged me too. Chris (not my best friend, Chris the male Faith and Light member :) ) as usual was all huggy anyway, and everyone was saying good lcuk, and hope to see you soon, it was one of the first times I think I've felt truly sad about leaving (does that sound bad?). I can't even come back for the Christmas party, I'll still be in York... ah well.

Random word for today: Trichotillomania
