Stories and sacraments

Is the end really nigh? James wants to use Chick tracts at school. Is this a sign of the endtimes? (I hate most Chick tracts, for numerous reasons.)

Entered my story for the short-story competition today. It had to be based around the theme 'The Elements'. My first draft was a contemplatory story packed full of some rather over-used ideas, in a cliche style. This sounds like an odd thing to say, but I think it could have won, simply because it wins points for gooiness. But I didn't feel right entering it, because I couldn't feel the story. I have to live with my characters or else I don't feel I own them, they're just recycled. So with the story I entered, to be more obscure, I'm not sure if it could win. It's very Helenish, and instead of appreciating my sappiness you have to appreciate my sense of irony. Which is harder.

*sigh* What kind of humour would Jesus appreciate? (your answers would genuinely be of help!) I figure that Jesus was not a prude by any means, but I don't know!!!

Rory is still following me, and I'm beginning to get snappy at him :( Although singing Westlife works.

*yawn*. I'm tired. I got 60% on my chem investigation, which is better than nothing I guess. Certainly better than my E at GCSE.

And God rocks. I'm still not the greatest servant though, but I am so pleased that he loves me. I read an interesting article on Ship of Fools about a very unorthodox sounding service :) The message boards on SoF are battling it out on the old symbolism/transubstiation communion debate. The thing that caught me about the communion was this - He says, 'This is Christ's body, broken for you.' And he throws the bread down on the floor. 'This is Christ's blood, shed for you.' And he throws the wine across the altar. It runs onto the floor like blood. It was so striking, such a strong reminder of what Jesus went through. He loves us so much.
