Good eyesight and unexpected shifts
Friday, Jul. 05, 2002 - 11:44 Thanks to Alice and Becky for your guestbook messages :) Glad you liked my book reviews. Yup, God is good, all the time :) There was a T.V. version of the Cuckoo Sister? excellent! :) Hope it was good... Happy (belated) Independence Day to anyone who celebrates it! I went to the optician's yesterday... yes, news of the Millennium I know. Anyway, my eye-sight's nearly perfect. The woman spent so long fiddling with lenses I thought it was going to be bad :) For ages she shone this light right into my eye and told me to look straight ahead. Something about the way she was searching my retina for clues kept making me want to giggle. I'm a teeny tiny bit long-sighted, she said. Yesterday I was just getting some lunch when Sam at work called and asked me to come in. In the absence of any sensible reason why not, I agreed and went in. In a way, it was sort of a nice feeling that I was only there because I'd agreed to be. Plus... this guy gave me a tip. Me a tip... he handed it to Lee and said, 'Give this to her, she's our waitress'. I'd only taken them their food. I didn't realise what he was talking about until he left, which is a shame, I would have liked to thank him :) It was a nice gesture... it's a bit rare that people notice how well (or not :) ) I'm working.
