A Curious Girl: Summer days drifting away

I saw Abi and Lee today! Yes, Abi the mad French one :D and Lee her boyfriend. It was great, we ate roast chicken, watched All about my mother and talked about universities and things. They are two of my favourite people to socialise with, they're good fun and usually so relaxed. I like Abi's house, it looks 'lived in'! There is something spooky about a house that is always tidy. It's funny, but I wonder if people who live in immaculate houses are really happy, when they seem to clear it of every sign that people actually live there. Perhaps they'd rather be elsewhere. Even if a house is tidy normally, it's drastically improved by being messed up occasionally! Who, as a child, did not relish the chance to turn their bedroom floor into a lego city, for instance? (Me as a mother - "Go mess up your bedroom! Tidy people are not happy!")

It was so nice to talk about things. I love that both Abi and Lee will happily listen to what I'm thinking about God and never ever make me feel judged. I do my best to return the favour. Lee was quite quiet today. It was strange, because I'd been hoping that they wouldn't be all 'couply' but I actually would have liked to have talked to Lee more, even at the expense of 'couply' behaviour! Actually, somehow Abi and Lee have never struck me as annoyingly couply even when they are hugging a lot. I suppose this is because they always seem welcoming. They're both wonderful.

Thank you Doctor Who for signing the book :) Aaah, Windows 98... Thank you Rick also, I read your entry and it was nicely thought out, I will give my thoughts at some point but right now I'm back to the 'I really don't want to talk about this in my diary right now' stage. Sorry :)

I loved being outside today. It might have been insanely hot (it was) but there were so many butterflies and crickets, plus blackberries are in season and the sky was so clear. Beautiful. I love summer...
