Student Tutoring and other stuff
Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002 - 16:13 Ick. For the first time in a long time, I woke up this morning glad to be awake. I hate nightmares :( Hopefully I'm going to be a Student Tutor - helping kids out in their work at school. Sounds fun. I visited the school I'm at this afternoon. It took so long to get there, I may have to change (but I'll have to check my timetable for next term). It seems nice - I'm with 8-9s and I'm sure it'll be great - Art is on Wednesday afternoons! yay! And it'll be nice to do something different that'll still help towards my career ('I was in the Douglas Adams Society' probably won't go on my CV :) ), good ol' tranferable skills. On the way up, one of the other girls doing it was talking about a camp she helped take kids on, really poor children who have behavioural problems etc. It's odd, in some ways it sounded horrible, hellish and stressful, but in other ways - brilliant. I mean, they were all crying at the end because they were going home :) Wouldn't it be great to make a difference in those kids' lives? Not got much else to say really. Thermodynamics is just as boring as it was in school. (Can you imagine anyone interesting discovering anything in thermodynamics?) I'm a little frustrated at the moment because in some ways I don't feel like I'm doing Biochemistry, more like joint honours Biology and Chemistry... (Hi Duck, you'll probably briefly know more Biochem than I do :) Though if you need help, don't hesitate to ask). I'm looking forward to Christmas, even if it does mean I'll be back at work (hey, I like the guys at work, and a mindnumbing job I can do well would actually be quite welcome). Blah. Well I'm tired and hungry so I'll toddle off now, see you later. (Incidentally, does anyone who knows what I sound like think I sound like Marina Sirtis, aka. Deanna Troi?? I'm sensing great pain...)
